When should I change my oil?
How can I compare oil quality?
What is the best oil for my car?
Can an engine oil affect fuel economy?
Because higher numbers mean thicker oil, should I be using a thick grade such as SAE 20W-50 to give the engine maximum protection?
I recently went to an equipment exhibition and a person was demonstrating the superior performance of his company's oil by adding a drop of the oil to the outside of a spinning metal ring, then pushing a metal bar down onto that ring and showing that no noise or smoke was produced. When the same demonstration was done with a standard engine oil, it produced smoke and noise. Was the demonstrator's oil superior and, so, better for my engine?
